How long have you been working in the real estate industry?
27 years

How did you get into real estate?
My mom left nursing and went into real estate when I was young. I watched her as a single mom in a constantly changing industry. It wasn’t always easy, but I loved the stories of the clients she helped. I transitioned from a career in management to the financial industry, and realized my love was in the stories of the people I worked with, specifically those buying homes and building families and memories.

What was one of your greatest challenges starting out?
The greatest challenge came after leaving the credit union I worked at for ten years. I was starting again in a whole new world of building relationships and earning my business. I wasn’t given clients; I had to find them, ask for their business, and consistently learn, grow, and educate myself, clients, and business partners.

What advice did you find most helpful when starting out in the industry?
Mindset is everything. “What you focus on expands.”

What do you enjoy most about working in real estate?
Watching clients buy homes and grow into them.

What is your proudest achievement or favorite memory in real estate?
Every time I help clients buy the homes they’ve been dreaming about.

What advice would you give to someone new to the industry, or someone considering real estate?
Your business is yours to own and grow. Be mindful of who you surround yourself with and what thoughts you focus on.

How has being a member of RASCW benefited you?
This association has so much to offer. There are consistent opportunities to learn, be better professionals, network with peers, and have fun too!

How are you involved and making a difference in your community?
I’ve been a member of a RASCW committee for many years, including serving as a committee Chair. I’ve also been a Board member and President of the Home Buyer’s Round Table, a Madison women’s entrepreneurship group, and several other community groups.

If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, alive or not, who would it be?
Living and in the U.S., Matthew McConaughey would be a top choice. He’s accomplished, smart, respected, lives free and natural, and is so easy on the ears and eyes. At any time, any place in the world, Marcus Aurelius would be my choice. He was a successful, peaceful, and insightful Emperor who continues to impact and inspire our world. Along with that, I’d be very happy to meet him in his hometown of Roma.

Outside of work, what makes you happy?
Spending time with my beautiful young men, friends, and anywhere there’s water or mountains.
